Jan 22, 2008· Posted January 22, 2008. We've seen cable operated powershifts into the late 1960s. Dad's HD 21 was a 1964. Manual shift, torque converter, cable blade. He liked it although he said he could adjust his HD 10 Garwood ccu to be more sensitive to respond to the hand lever for up/down. Finishing is much nicer with a cable.
